casino history

The origins of gambling are pretty much unknown. The Chinese recorded the first official account of the practice in 2300 B.C., and it is generally believed that gambling, in one form or another, has been present through the ages on every continent.
From the Ancient Greeks and Romans to Napoleon's France and Elizabethan England. Playing cardswas invented by the french in 1387, and in 1440 Johann Gutenberg of Germany was credited with printing the first full deck of cards.

The English developed a diversion called hazard, the forerunner of today's popular dice-throwing game of craps, and the basis for modern poker games is believed to have originated from a combination of ancient influences including Persian, Italian, and English games of chance. While the French in the sixteenth century became adept at the Egyptian game of roulette, while Napoleon took interest in the card game vingt-et-un—what is now known as blackjack or twenty-one. Further refinements to poker include betting techniques introduced by the French and the concept of bluffing developed by the British.

The casinos, in the early 1900s, were thought of as a place wherethe tribal Indians used to trade their goods with each other. It was a decent medium of exchanging their products. People used to travel long distances to trade. Later on these trading places also became places of gambling.

It was'nt until the 60s casinos were legalised. People found it a rather lucrative way of earning a quick buck. A host of rules were passed so as to make it legal and then finally in the year 1968 an act was passed which made casinos legal. The casino was born.

There were at the time only a few games. People quickly got bored and they wanted more variety. Casinos needed to be more interesting, new games were introduced. These games successfully pleased the crowds making casinos grow.

Iin the early 90s virtual money was introduced and this was a huge leap in the world of online casinos.

Casinos then saw was the introduction of online casinos. Technology has made it a lot more interesting it has definately added to the whole experience. You can just about play in any casino in the world in the comfort of your own home.
